Welcome to the 31st show of our 26th season of Mastercard Junior Hockey Magazine.

This week on the season finale of JHM, OHL Commissioner and CHL President David Branch joins the show to preview the Memorial Cup and talk about the CHL Scholarship program. The CJHL report features special guest, CJHL Chairman Kirk Lamb as the RBC Cup is just days from getting underway. In the Hockey Canada Community Connection, Scott Smith calls into the show as he prepares assume duty as Hockey Canada’s president on July 1st. Finally, in CHL Leaders, four year OHL alum, now GM of the Mississauga Steelheads, James Boyd shares his story.

Each week we proudly present Hockey Canada Connection, a regular editorial feature that focuses on the news and Hockey Canada personalities ranging from National Team Coaches and players right to local volunteers who make Hockey Canada one of the greatest sports organizations on the planet. We take a close look at Hockey Canada’s grassroots programs such as First Shift, which encourages new players to take up their first steps in the sport, to advanced coaching programs which help develop the best players possible. We talk to volunteers, parents, coaches and of course – players themselves. 

This week on the Hockey Canada Community Connection, Scott Smith joins the show as he gets set to take over as the President of Hockey Canada on July 1st.

CHL – Canadian Hockey League

The Canadian Hockey League is the umbrella organization of the the three Major Junior Leagues in Canada – the WHL, the OHl and the QMJHL. This is the 26th season that each week our JHM “Insiders”  bring you the inside story of each league, profiling the leading teams, coaches and players as they advance towards the World Junior Championships, Top Prospects Game and of course - the Mastercard Memorial Cup.

This week in CHL Leaders, a four year OHL alum, James Boyd talks about his journey to becoming the GM of the Mississauga Steelheads.

CJHL – Canadian Junior Hockey League

The CJHL is Canada’s largest Junior Hockey League comprised of 11 Leagues with a total of 131 Teams from coast to coast. Many of the players go on to successful careers in both the NCAA and CHL, with some players even moving on to NHL Careers after. Each year they play for the National Championship, RBC CUP and Mastercard Junior Hockey Magazine is pleased speak to the leading players and coaches each week across the CJHL.
